Captain Phillips: exaggerated?
2013's Captain Phillips featuring Tom Hanks as Captain Phillips and Barkhad Abdi as Abduwali Abdukhadir Muse, the head hijacker is told to be based off of a true story, though some characters feel their story hasn't been told. Even one of Phillips' crew who goes by ATM, says he alerted Phillips about the pirates only to have Phillips walk away and tell him it could be a fishing boat. Phillips denies this.
The question is, whose story is being told in this movie? Is the movie exaggerated to make some seem innocent and some guilty?
In the movie, Phillips received news about recent hijackings in the surrounding waters, but chose to keep his course. The Alabama sailed 300 to 400 miles from the Somali coast, in order to maintain a faster, more direct route, even though at least one warning cautioned that “vessels should consider maintaining a distance of more than 600 miles from Somalia coastline.” Phillips did not listen. The warnings were directed at all the ships in the area, but one was sent directly to Phillips.
The crew's efforts to take the ship back are also largely accurate, though some details are perceived as made up. The book never describes a barefoot pirate stumbling on a field of broken glass left by the crew as a booby trap. They all had sandals in the book.
Though he was made a hero by ensuing media reports, Phillips doesn't call himself a hero for these actions. In the movie, Phillips says things like, "If want to shoot someone, shoot me!" But Phillips says that he never meant to sacrifice himself for the crew, which is where the movie was exaggerated.
In real life, Phillips was on the rescue boat for almost five days, whereas in the movie it seems more like 36 hours or so.
In the movie, things got much worse after Phillips tried to escape, while one of the pirates was urinating off the boat. They asked him if he wanted beer, thinking that all Americans loved beer.
Overall, this movie seems slightly exaggerated and there are pieces that were missing and added in, but I would give this movie a rating of a 9 out of 10. I do recommend this movie for older ages just because there are very violent scenes and some bad words.
I loved this movie and I think it can teach many life lessons throughout it.

Smurfs - lost village

6. "Sony Pictures Animation has gone back to the well and unapologetically left adults behind for the third entry in their Smurfs franchise. Discarding the combination of live-action and animation that marked the first two efforts, Smurfs: The Lost Village is strictly animated and geared only for younger viewers. The reboot directed by Kelly Asbury (Shrek 2) should please its target audience while providing little entertainment value to any adult chaperones who appreciated Neil Patrick Harris and Hank Azaria’s enjoyably over-the-top turns in the first two films."

And given that Jyn is rather less gung-ho and imposing than was Ridley's Rey, there's an overall feel of less physical capacity on the part of the main characters."

The numbers in the title of a race are the distances the swimmers are going. The higher the number, the longer the distance the swimmer is swimming. It can be measured in yards or meters.
A cliche that my coaches always told me about was "swim like a shark is chasing you"

long response: 16 year old Brynn Aylor died in a car crash where she lost control and slid onto the other side of the road. A pickup whirred by her and caused her to lose control of her car. I think kids should just read stories about how many people have died just because they decided to do stupid stuff while driving and it ruined their lives forever; that would be create training.
I personally am already driving, but i'm getting my license on my 16th birthday. I think kids should just be smart enough to not use their phones while driving.
I think 15 and 16 year olds should be able to drive.

I think Obama did order surveillance on Trump, and I don't blame him either. Obama actually cared about this country, where as Trump does not, obviously. Trump needs to apologize to everyone, jesus. letting go
Today I decided to write about my past. And although is makes me uncomfortable and icky, I have to accept that it is a part of my life and I must talk about it.
Up until I was seven, my family was decently wealthy. We went on a Disney World trip over the summer and that's when my dad got a call from his boss that the business shut down and my mom was unemployed. And because of this stress, anger began to arise in the house. My dad slept on the couch and there was constant yelling going around. We couldn't afford our house anymore so we moved out to a smaller place and rented it. My room was an office that I shared with my dad. The arguing became worse and sometimes when my dad was gone, my mom would call me horrible names, even occasionally slap me.
My dad picked my siblings and I up from school one day, bought us ice cream and sat us in the back of my uncle's trailer. He told us that he had divorced my mom. He was living in that trailer with no shower, office or free space.
Just a few months later, I started getting bullied. Bullying was a huge part of my life from that point on.
In January of 2014, my dad married a woman I had never met and I was furious with him. I sided with my abusive mother and created lots of bad energy in my life.
Bullying continued to play on and get worse as middle school passed by. By the end of 6th grade I was purposefully hurting myself.
Moving onto 7th grade, I started to see my dad more. I was visiting him every weekend and a couple days a week. I spent some of the summer with him and some of the summer with my mom. At this time, I started to develop serious depression and I isolated myself from others and hurt myself almost daily.
I attempted suicide in March of 2015.
At the start of 8th grade, I ran away and never saw my mom again, to this day. My self harm was getting worse and so did bullying. Over the winter break of 2015 I was raped and I continuously blamed myself for it. In February of 2016, I was sexually harassed by the boy sitting next to me in class. He was only suspended for a week and I was removed from the class.
February 12th was the last day that I ever hurt myself. As I continued to live with my dad, my life started to get better. I pulled myself out of depression and have not spoken to my mom for over a year now.
This is dedicated to accepting my past and becoming a newer version of myself, and to show others that it gets better; you just have to believe it will.

Up until I was seven, my family was decently wealthy. We went on a Disney World trip over the summer and that's when my dad got a call from his boss that the business shut down and my mom was unemployed. And because of this stress, anger began to arise in the house. My dad slept on the couch and there was constant yelling going around. We couldn't afford our house anymore so we moved out to a smaller place and rented it. My room was an office that I shared with my dad. The arguing became worse and sometimes when my dad was gone, my mom would call me horrible names, even occasionally slap me.
My dad picked my siblings and I up from school one day, bought us ice cream and sat us in the back of my uncle's trailer. He told us that he had divorced my mom. He was living in that trailer with no shower, office or free space.
Just a few months later, I started getting bullied. Bullying was a huge part of my life from that point on.
In January of 2014, my dad married a woman I had never met and I was furious with him. I sided with my abusive mother and created lots of bad energy in my life.
Bullying continued to play on and get worse as middle school passed by. By the end of 6th grade I was purposefully hurting myself.
Moving onto 7th grade, I started to see my dad more. I was visiting him every weekend and a couple days a week. I spent some of the summer with him and some of the summer with my mom. At this time, I started to develop serious depression and I isolated myself from others and hurt myself almost daily.
I attempted suicide in March of 2015.
